THE FRIENDS OF CORONATION GARDENS
Aims of the Friends of Coronation Gardens
To conserve and develop the gardens for all to enjoy
About the Friends
The Friends are a group of volunteers who work in several ways to enhance the gardens
· by regular garden tidy-ups
· by working with Wirral Borough Council to control litter and noise pollution
· by fundraising
· by engaging the community to identify it’s needs
· by creating a consensual development plan and applying to external agencies for financial support
Our Achievements
· Making the gardens a safe and clean environment. In 2002 the gardens were unloved and in a state of disrepair. By a series of monthly tidy ups on Saturday mornings during the summer we have made the gardens a pleasant and safe place to be. By working with Wirral Borough Council we have reduced dog fouling and litter
· Noticeboard. The noticeboard was erected two years ago and provides a wealth of local information including tide times and information on forthcoming local events
· Three years ago the Banks Road entrance was derelict and posed an unsightly hazard and deterrent to visitors to the park. Now, supported by Wirral Community Chest, the Friends, in association with Wirral Borough Council have installed a new archway and refurbished entrance ramp.
